Season 12 of NCIS Los Angeles left fans wondering about the possible departure of Special Projects Director Hetty Lange. Thus, fans were asking that this character should be the leader.
The popular series NCIS Los Angeles kept all fans worried with the absence of Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) for most of season 12 and the return of Nell Jones (Renée Felice Smith) as head of the Office of Special Projects. So many thought she would take over, but in a twist of the series, she finally stepped down when Lange returned in the final episode.
The return of Hetty Lange and her last scene talking to the retired Admiral Hollace Kilbride (Gerald McRaney), who needed to speak with him privately, have fans doubting Lange’s dismissal from office.
Hetty may not return to NCIS in the same capacity. And if that’s the case, someone needs to take over the role. Could it be Kilbride, who has been spending more and more time at OSP?
Well, fans have been talking about the next character to be the head of Special Projects Office in Los Angeles due to his great experience and leadership skills.
According to various surveys conducted by social network Reddit and other media, fans have voted on the new team leader, ratifying Hetty Lange as leader because there is no other capable character like her.
Although in season 11 they talked about Sam’s (LL Cool J) plan for the team’s future, which included Callen (Chris O’Donnell) taking over Hetty while he trained the younger agents.
But fans have talked about Callen not being qualified enough to run the office due to his impulses and emotions that could jeopardize the entire team. However, it is expected that for the 13th season of NCIS Los Angeles, which recently started filming, we will gradually see the departure of Hetty and the arrival of the next leader.
