From the moment the first two episodes of WandaVision were aired in January, the series was a smash sensation: it not only launched Disney+’s new Marvel TV series, but it also became an instant hit.

Moreover, it mixed the silliness of classic sitcoms and the angst of superheroes to weave a twisted family drama that could be hilarious one moment and devastating the next.

But, during a recent interview with Weekly Entertainment and following the news of Emmy awards, Olsen was talking about the unexpected journey and future that awaits the show.

WandaVision: Elizabeth Olsen talks about upcoming projects

One of the questions fans have about the future of Scarlet Witch for the upcoming shows and movies Disney + is preparing is whether she’ll manage to appear in some of them, especially in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, next year; she said:

I mean, I have no idea of what to say. [Laughs] I’m just grateful that I feel like I have a good ownership of the character. I’m excited now that we have the audience understanding her more, and we can take them on different journeys to different places.

I am! I’m always surprised when people like anything I’m a part of. [Laughs] You never really know if something will hit and affect an audience. It just depends on what’s going on at that time and what else is on television. So yeah, I am surprised! Not because I didn’t love it, but just because you never know..

she told Entertainment Weekly

However, the popularity of WandaVision has increased again now that it has received 23 nominations for the 2021 Emmy Awards in very popular categories. But, fans expect this to be a gateway for a season 2 or another show featuring the Scarlet Witch.

The 73rd annual Emmy Awards airs Sunday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and will stream live on Paramount+.
