The charity’s giant hospital ship Global Mercy is now completed and ready to set off for Europe.

Built by Swedish Stena Roro, the Global Mercy was built at a shipyard in China. The ship is 174 meters long and contains six operating rooms. The ship can accommodate 950 people, including patients and caregivers.

Next, Global Mercy sails for Europe, where the ship will be further outfitted. The ship will be ready for commissioning next year to provide medical care in Africa.
