'NCIS' David McCallum Shares Memories of His Marriage
David McCallum wasn't shy about sharing photos of his wife on social media.
He shares photos of special moments, like birthdays and anniversaries, but there's one photo in particular that his fans love.
In the photo, on the left-hand side, you can see a black and white image on one side of two young people in the street. You can see a photo of McCallum and his wife smiling at the camera on the right-hand side.
McCallum and Carpenter met in 1965 during a photoshoot for "Man from U.N.C.L.E." Carpenter was 21 at the time and McCallum was 11 years older than her, but that didn't stop them from falling in love.
Carpenter was present for the photo shoot that day, as she is a former actress and model. She now helps McCallum with his charity work and raises a beautiful family.
McCallum and Carpenter have had many amazing experiences, one of which is being parents. They're parents to two children, Sophie and Peter. McCallum also has children from a previous marriage.
Before McCallum and Carpenter tied the knot, many doubted their relationship because of the timeline in which it started. When the couple started dating, McCallum wasn't divorced yet.
McCallum was still married to Ireland, although they wereclose to divorcing.
McCallum and Ireland also have three children, who people were worried about their father's new relationship.
In fact, the couple have been in love for so long that they celebrated NCIS' 80th birthday in Montecito by dancing for hours at a birthday party.
However, the couple continued their relationship regardless of what people said. In 1967, two years after the couple met, McCallum's divorce from Ireland was finalized, and McCallum popped the question to Carpenter.
Their wedding took place a few months later and was a quiet affair.
They stayed under the radar for most of their marriage and are still madly in love, although McCallum rarely mentions his family in public.
One of the philanthropic efforts that Carpenter helps McCallum with is the United States Marine Corps.
Couples are often photographed at events held for the Marine Corps. They even won the Semper Fidelis Award.
