Blue Origin first ticket to Space sold for $28 million
On Saturday, Blue Origin auctioned off the first passenger ticket for a trip into space on the company's New Shepard spacecraft.
The winning bid was $28 million. The winning bid from the auction will be donated to Blue Origin Foundation "Club for the Future," a foundation that aims to encourage children to choose a future career path in space research.
The so far anonymous auction winner, along with the Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos and his brother Mark, is expected to arrive on July 20. It will be announced shortly who bought the ticket, and a little later Blue Origin will also reveal who will be the fourth passenger on New Shepard's first manned space flight.
Below is a recording from this weekend's live auction of Blue Origin's first space ticket.
