The End of an Era

After fourteen seasons, the beloved police drama Blue Bloods came to an emotional end. The series, starring Tom Selleck as Frank Reagan and Bridget Moynahan as his daughter Erin, has captivated audiences for years with its compelling storylines and strong family dynamic. In a recent interview to People magazine, Moynahan opened up about her experience filming the final season and shared heartfelt moments with her co-star Selleck.

More Than Just Colleagues: A Real Family

Moynahan revealed that she and her castmates were disappointed when CBS decided to cancel the show. Despite the sadness, she expressed gratitude for the incredible experiences and friendships formed during her time on Blue Bloods.

“We all had such a good time,” she said. “We all want to be there. It’s a real loss.”

One of the most poignant moments for Moynahan came on her last day of filming. Selleck, who had already wrapped up his scenes, returned to the set to support her and Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Danny Reagan.

“I think one of the most beautiful things on that last day for me, I’ll never forget it, is Tom, because he was already wrapped and he came down for Donnie and mine’s last scene,” Moynahan shared.

The actress described the emotional goodbye as a testament to the strong bond between the cast members.

“We were behind a monitor — I’m getting choked up as I say this — and I had my arm around Tom, and he was holding onto my hands the way my dad did,” she said. “We were just so thankful, and he was so gracious. From day one that’s the way it went: ‘Nice to meet you. We are family.’”

Reflecting on the final season, Moynahan expressed her gratitude to the fans who have supported the show throughout its run.

A Legacy of Gratitude

“I have such gratitude for supporting us, cheering us on, for tuning in every Friday night, for caring about the stories and characters, and particularly all the men and women in law enforcement who do put their lives on the line for us,” she added.

The final season of Blue Bloods marked the end of an era for fans and cast members alike. As Moynahan’s heartfelt words reveal, the show left a lasting impact on those involved, and its legacy will continue to be cherished for years to come.
