NCIS Hawaii is expected to be the third spinoff series in the NCIS franchise, and many fans are impatiently asking: When will the new series be released?
NCIS Hawaii will feature other agents delving into amazing investigations, but this time it will be set in the island state. When is the release date for the next CBS drama?
CBS is working to finalize deals to secure the future of NCIS Hawaii. The drama is directed by the executive producers of NCIS New Orleans Christopher Silber and Jan Nash, as well as SEAL team writer and producer Matt Bosack.
A start date has been set for September 20 and the premiere will begin at 10:00 p.m. on CBS. If the series launches successfully, CBS will be able to use the production in a new base in America’s 50th state, the island of Hawai’i, that was originally built for Hawaii Five-0.
CBS is also behind the drama Magnum PI, which could mean the potential for a crossover between the series and the NCIS franchise, as it is common for the network to do these crossovers.
As fans will recall, this is not the network’s first attempt to launch another spinoff show. In 2013, NCIS Los Angeles introduced Red, TheNCIS Red Team in which all agents work, travel, and live together in mobile command centers.
The Red Team, lead by Special Agent Paris Summerskill, was featured for two episodes. Unfortunately, the spinoff show was not retaken, although many hope this will not happen with NCIS Hawaii.
