The statement was made yesterday May 19 when CBS announced that, for the first time, NCIS will move to a new day and time next season. Eventually, star Mark Harmon will have a downsized role as Leroy Gibbs in the investigative drama.
In this regard, Kahl told Deadline that they still don’t know how many episodes of season 19 Harmon will appear in. But, he added the following information:
“We take it year after year with Mark, we’d love to have him as long as he wants to be here.”Also, the president of the CBS network reminded fans that things slowed down a bit for “Gibbs” in season 18, a trend that could continue to advance. This added Kahl:
“Even last season, [Harmon] could have been light in a couple of [episodes], so we’re happy to work on his schedule.”
