Volvo launches cheaper variant of the XC40
Both Polestar and Volvo have only had expensive versions of their electric cars, but a while back Polestar came out with a cheaper variant of its Polestar 2. Now Volvo is doing the same with the XC40, but you don't get below half a million like Polestar did.
To save money, you only have one electric motor in the new version, which then drives the front wheels. This version will be called XC40 Recharge Twin and the version with two engines and all-wheel drive will be called XC40 Recharge Twin.
The XC40 Recharge will have 231 horses and a 69 kWh battery. According to WLTP, the range should be 400 km and 10-80 percent should be charged in 32 minutes.
Plus version you get an electric tailgate, keyless locking system, LED headlights, electrically operated seat and heat pump. This is what you want. Pro includes Plus but also Harman kardon sound and 360 camera.
