"Yellowstone" a Life-Changer for Luke Grimes and Kelsey Asbille
Playing Monica and Kayce Dutton on "Yellowstone," Kelsey Asbille and Luke Grimes have remarked that being part of the popular Western series has completely changed their life—personal as much as professionally.
"It's had a huge impact on our careers and our lives in general," Asbille said in a recent online interview.
She joked about how immersed her family is in the "Yellowstone" world, saying, "I own tons of 'Yellowstone' cast-iron pans! There's so much merchandise. My family's got it all. It's crazy. My dad even keeps a stack of those pans in his truck, ready to give away. So, it's not just me, it's affected my whole family."
Grimes laughed, "I can't beat that pan story!" but then turned more serious, stating, "It's honestly changed my life in every way."
He added, "I've never been involved in something this large and successful. And I've definitely never played a character for seven years straight before. So, I feel like I've made lifelong friends on this job. It has indeed changed my life. A lot has happened. I even moved to Montana because I fell in love with it, so I'm in a quite different place now because of this show."
"Yellowstone," just wrapped up its fifth season on Paramount Network, tells the story of the wealthy Dutton family and their fight to protect their massive Montana cattle ranch, which has been in their family for over a hundred years.
The most recent episodes revealed the tragic murder of family patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and the strong responses of his children, Kayce and Beth (Kelly Reilly), who were distraught and enraged particularly upon learning their adopted brother Jamie (Wes Bentley) was involved.
While Beth is constantly pushing Kayce to get revenge for their father's death, Monica provides a calming and sensible presence, reminding Beth of what truly matters: their marriage, their son Tate (Brecken Merrill), and the ranch itself, which represents a fading way of life in a beautiful, unspoiled setting.
