Tom Selleck reunited with old Magnum P.I. co-star Larry Manetti this week for a guest appearance on Blue Bloods.

Tom Selleck and Larry Manetti, original Magnum P.I. co-stars, are reunited for an upcoming episode of Selleck's CBS drama series Blue Bloods. This is the first time the two acting onscreen together since Magnum P.I. ended in 1988.

Blue Bloods' Donnie Wahlberg shared the news on social media, writing: "It's a little Magnum PI reunion this week on the set of #BlueBloods with guest stars Larry Manetti and Tom Selleck– together again. Wishing the late greats Roger E Mosley & John Hillerman could be here, too."

This is the first time the pair have reunited on screen since their roles in the CBS drama, which aired from 1980-1988.

The series follows Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV, a detective who lives in a beachfront property house called Robin's Nest in Hawaii and chooses his cases to investigate.

John Hillerman, who played the stuffed-shirt Jonathan Higgins to Selleck's freewheeling detective Thomas Magnum, died in 2017 at the age of 84.

Roger Mosley, Theodore "T.S." Calvin in the series, died in August 2022 at the age of 83.

The Los Angeles-born actor died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following a car accident in Linwood, California.

His character, Calvin, owned a helicopter company called Island Hoppers. He previously worked with Selleck on 'Terminal Island' film, who recommended him for the role.

Magnum P.I. was relaunched in 2018 with Jay Hernandez as Magnum and Zachary Knighton as Wright; Manetti appeared as Nicky "The Kid" DeMarco in 2019.

Blue Bloods, now in its 13th season, stars Selleck as New York City police commissioner and family patriarch Frank Reagan.

Blue Bloods remains a top five scripted series on CBS and a cornerstone of the network's impressive Friday lineup. As Deadline recently reported, the police drama is in active renewal talks, and the network hopes to bring the show back for a 14th season.
