Tom Selleck's Kids Are the Center of His Universe! Meet Kevin and Hannah
The Hollywood heartthrob may play the role of a police-commissioner father of a law enforcement family on CBS’ Blue Bloods, but in real life, he’s the doting parent of his two kids, Kevin Selleck and Hannah Selleck.
“He’s close [with his children] and a good dad,” an insider exclusively told Closer Weekly in January 2020, noting the Golden Globe winner will do absolutely anything for his son and daughter. “Tom rides horses and spends time with [Hannah]. She’s a lovely young lady.”
The Magnum, P.I. alum shares his family with his beloved wife, Jillie Mack, but Tom actually became a dad for the first time alongside his first spouse, Jacqueline Ray. The former couple was married from 1971 to 1982. During their union, Tom adopted Jacqueline’s son, Kevin, whom she welcomed with a previous partner in 1966.
It wasn’t until Tom walked down the aisle with Jillie, a fellow actress, in 1987 that his daughter came along. Hannah was born in 1988, just one year after the lovebirds exchanged vows. The 3 Men and a Baby actor and his blonde beauty have been going strong ever since.
Tom is still very much active in the entertainment industry, and he has no plans to retire from Hollywood anytime soon. However, he did briefly step back from showbiz throughout his career, including the time he “quit” his role on Magnum P.I. so he could “have a family” and focus on raising his kids. “It took a long time to get off the train, but I try very hard to have balance,” he told People in 2012.
Fortunately, Tom eventually returned to the spotlight and has been starring on Blue Bloods since 2010, among others. Though juggling his life at home with his career can be difficult at times, the Killers actor noted his wife and children always keep things in perspective. “As good as this business has been to me, life is about more important things,” he once revealed to Beliefnet.
As his kids have grown up, Tom has been so proud to watch Kevin and Hannah blossom into successful adults. Even though his children have established their own, independent lives, the Jesse Stone star will always be there for his son and daughter. “You never stop being a dad even though your kids are grown,” he told Parade in 2018.

Tom’s eldest child arrived in 1966 while the actor’s first wife, Jacqueline, was in a relationship with another man. Though it’s unclear who Kevin’s biological father is, Tom adopted him in August 1987 and has filled in the role as his doting dad ever since, according to reports.

Kevin followed in his dad’s famous footsteps, becoming an actor. Per IMDb, he has an acting credit in Magnum, P.I., and he also appeared in and helped write the soundtrack for 1997’s Scream 2. In addition to acting, Kevin formed the rock band Tonic in 1993 alongside Emerson Hart and Dan Lavery. Kevin played the drums for the band for three years, but he left the group by 1996.
As far as his personal life goes, Kevin is married to his wife, Annabelle Selleck, and they reportedly have six children together.
Tom’s daughter, Hannah, was born on December 16, 1988. Though Hannah didn’t become a Hollywood star like her father, the brunette beauty is very successful in her own right as an equestrian jumping athlete and a model.

Hannah got into horse riding at a very young age. After picking up a natural talent, she started training at Foxfield Riding School in Westlake Village, California, an acclaimed equestrian academy.
“Because [my parents are] both artists, they believe in the idea that you have to be very passionate about what you do to be successful. They encouraged me to be passionate about it and immersed in it, and from there it was kind of on me how much I wanted it,” she once told Equestrian Living. “They always let me take the lead. If I wanted to move barns or trainers, that was my decision.”
In 2018, she suffered a devastating injury. The athlete broke her tibia and fibula in a riding accident. She was focused on getting back in the game after a long recovery.
“I worked with an energy healer and we worked on a lot of guided meditations and visualizations,” she told Modern Luxury Palm Beach in January 2022. “My visualization was imagining myself and my horse in a protective white light, and that we were protected over the jumps, the whole course. The next competition, I remember thinking, ‘I don’t know if this is going to work, but we’ll give it a try.’ We went in and that fear started to come up; I could feel it. I just closed my eyes for a minute and envisioned this white light and rode really well.”
In addition to riding horses, Hannah loves being photographed. In January 2021, she uploaded a video of her modeling for Horse and Style Magazine, “Ready for you 2021,” she captioned the pic on Instagram.
